Art Up Close - Online Public Art
Art Up Close brings artists to you. Online.
April 20, 2020, Laramie, WY... Laramie Public Art Coalition announces a new program, Art Up Close, funded by the City of Laramie. Art Up Close is a response to social distancing due to COVID-19. Twelve Laramie-based artists were commissioned to create virtual content to share with the community. These new and interactive artist videos will be released by LPAC starting April 21 through the end of May.
The community can access new content every Tuesday and Thursday at 1 PM on the LPAC Facebook page. Content will also be archived and available on laramiepublicart.org. Viewers will be invited to discover, imagine, and play at home.
Participating artists include painter Joe Arnold, writer Jessica Bauer, photographer Sydney Edwards, painter Ross Everett, musician Patrick Gilchrist, musician Sharon Martinson, mixed media artist Debbie Mathew, painter Jennifer Power, glass artist Dillon Ruland, musician Katherine Smith, and painter Lindsay Stoffers. Art Up Close also supported an April 17th virtual play reading hosted by Anne Mason and Relative Theatrics.
Front Porch Concert Series
Save the date for LPAC’s first ever front porch concert festival! This is a grassroots, free neighborhood music festival hosted by the Laramie Public Art Coalition with seed money from the City of Laramie's Parks and Rec board. Listening Session - West Side
LPAC is hosting a listening session for residents of the West Side Neighborhood on July 10 at 7 pm at the Lincoln Community Center regarding the sculpture pads on the base of the new bridge. This is a great opportunity for residents to be heard and shape the direction of what kind of public art would best represent the community.
